Scholarships. You’ve heard about them and you know they’re valuable, but the idea of finding one to apply for might seem a little daunting. Where do you look for cosmetology scholarships? How do you know which one is best for you to apply for? There are actually quite a few awesome cosmetology scholarships available, you just might not know about them! Beauty Changes Lives

Beauty Changes Lives is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to empowering beauty and wellness professionals across the country. The foundation is supported by an incredible team of beauty professionals that includes educators, distributors, celebrities, and beauty industry icons. There are nine available scholarships for newer beauty and wellness students, as well as three more advanced scholarships for cosmetology, makeup, and nails. Beauty Changes Lives has awarded over two million dollars in scholarships to students since 2013. Summer, fall, and winter scholarships are offered every single year. Fall 2018 application deadlines are coming up at the end of September. However, there are still five available scholarship opportunities with winter deadlines of December 1-February 10. The Great Scholarship Program (Alice Barton Madden)

The Great Scholarship Program in memory of Alice Barton Madden is one of the industry’s most prestigious awards. Alice Barton Madden was the mother of former Great Clips CEO and current Vice Chair of the Great Clips Board of Directors, Rhoda Olsen and Great Clips Chairman Ray Barton. This scholarship was created in her honor to determined, outstanding students who are passionate and demonstrate integrity in their work. The Great Scholarship program awards anywhere between $250 and $1,500 to high school and cosmetology school students across the country. The scholarship deadline has passed for 2018, but when time rolls around in 2019 just go to this online form to get started on the application process! Professional Beauty Association Scholarships

The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is dedicated to uplifting, united, and serving the beauty industry and the professionals who work in it. To further this mission, PBA offers two different scholarships to beauty professionals to help them grow and thrive in their careers.

Lifetime Member (Joseph Weir) Scholarship

Funded by the Joseph L. Weir Trust, the Lifetime Member Scholarship honors lifetime members of PBA. Joseph Weir was a charitable, passionate man who showed constant dedication to the beauty industry throughout his life. He established the trust to benefit the cosmetology industry in 1984. The Lifetime Member scholarship is awarded to individuals who dedicate their lives to beauty education and helping others grow in the industry. The deadline for the scholarship is March 31, 2019. Five recipients will be chosen and can use the awarded $1,000 for cosmetology school or continuing education. You can read all the terms, conditions, and eligibility rules here.

Minerva Beauty Scholarship

Based in Georgia, Minerva Beauty, Inc. is a leading manufacturer and distributor of salon equipment for The United States, Canada, and various other countries. Minerva Beauty keeps on top of the ever-changing beauty industry by consistently delivering high-quality products to customers. This dedication to efficiency, quality, and hard work is the true backbone of the Minerva Beauty Scholarship, which is available for students currently attending an accredited cosmetology school. The scholarship is worth $1,000 and will be awarded to ten eligible students. Luckily, the application deadline isn’t until May 2019, so you’ve got plenty of time to apply! Careers That Work! Scholarship

The Careers That Work! Program began in 1999. This scholarship awards five graduating high school students in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington with $1,000. Students must be heading to a participating career college like ESI Chubbuck to be eligible for this award. If accepted, the award amount is applied to the student’s tuition. The deadline for 2019 is June 24th, so visit the website today to learn the full rules and apply for the scholarship!
